Where I live people don't even turn their heads when they hear a gunshot. Everyone owns a gun[s] and everybody expects people using a gun to be careful with it.

Now gunshots followed by police sirens might cause concern.

Just depends on your perspective.

I'd agree....the economics first, the gunshots later.

Gunshots in my neighborhood generally don't result in anything, unless I let loose a couple full clips and it's after dark. Then a neighbor might call to see if I need help and are they invited to the party....ahahahaaaa

Old gal down the road called the police one day when a buddy of mine and I were hitting some target practice pretty hard and heavy. Two sheriff cars rolled up, I asked them if they wanted to join in, but they said "No....we feel woefully under armed....thanks anyway".....( we had several ARs, AKs, and buddy's 50cal out ) and they left.

i'm sure there might be a few shotguns and .22's
with the occasional .308 / 30-30 / 30-06
and more than a few visits from the local police / RCMP to discourage such activity

i think the Canadian mindset is " that militia stuff is only needed for Detroit/States "

I would not be bugging. If some of my neighbors (they all know I own guns) really knew how much ammo and powder I own, they would be crapping their pants do get out of here in case of fire. In that case there'd be not as many as there is now to contend with.

Just prior to the lights going out, a few of the less naive, will be shouting from the roofs.

Whether that is because the US will not be able to pay its utility bill, or for some other reason, I do not know.

The Canadian and Provincial Governments post ads on the radio and TV that everyone should be prepared and have a 72 hour emergency kit consisting of all the necessary items to leave your home as well as food to keep a your family going for 3 days.......

On bugging: I'm staying. I know the area, the people, and do not want to be on the road". We have community agreements. We all got together in 04-05 after three hurricanes. Everyone lives on 1.5 acre lots, and we can grow things year around and do.

By the time the zombies get out here they will be depleted by at least 70%. That will make easy pickins.

I've about 13+ acres and 7 neighbors +1 counting my son and DIL. So, out of 8 neighbors, only one is what I'd call uppity and a bit hostile. Two others will wave but are kind of uppity. 4 + son are friendlies. I'd say if the chips were down all but one might be dependable, not sure about that 1 hostile, his wife seems ok, but he called the sheriff on me one time, to which the sheriff turned around and gave him a long heart to heart. He was in the wrong and tried to shift blame, didn't work. Every chance I get, if I see him out, I'll wave, but he usually turns his back. :15_1_70v::36_3_12: Way I see it, he's carrying around a heavy burden he doesn't need to carry. I have no ill feelings, I have enough stress in my life to also be carrying around a burden of hate. Guess I'm getting off the thread now...........:biggrin:
